How often eXchange POP3 connects is set in the Schedule section. Below are options for controlling how the connection is handled during a schedule time span (period).
Keep connection up only while sending/receiving messagesThe poll interval during a schedule period determines how often to connect. After messages have been sent and received it is disconnected until the next poll interval.
Keep connection up during entire schedule periodSimilar to above option in that messages are sent and received every poll interval but the connection is maintained for the entire schedule period. This option is used by some organizations who wish the connection to be kept up so others can also use it for surfing the Internet during business hours.
