eXchange POP3 can send all Internet-bound messages to your ISP (who will resend them to the proper destination) or eXchange POP3 can send the messages directly to the recipient's email server.

send messages through ISP's mail server

ServerThe name or IP address of your ISP's SMTP mail server.
Outgoing server (SMTP) requires authenticationEnable this checkbox if your ISP requires authentication when sending messages to the Internet and then select which authentication method your ISP uses.
Log on usingSelect this option if your ISP requires an account name and password before sending messages to the Internet.
Wait until logged into Internet Mail Account...Some ISPs require you to be logged into your mailbox first to verify that you are allowed to send through them. If you select this option, eXchange POP3 will not start sending until it is logged into the first Internet Mail Account listed in Internet Mail Accounts.
Log on using sender's Internet Mail Account settingsSome ISPs require each message sent to the Internet to be authenticated using the sender's Internet Mail Account name and password. eXchange POP3 looks up the sender's address in the Internet Mail Accounts list and then uses the account name and password specified to logon before sending the message.

send messages direct

Resolve destination's domain using DNS...The IP address of your ISP's DNS server.

connection

Local host nameEnter your domain name.
Send any waiting messages immediatelySelect this option if you want to send messages to the Internet as they become available and not wait for the Schedule.

failed delivery

Retry failed messages everyIf a message cannot be sent it stays in the Internet Queue and is not eligible for sending until the time you specify here has elapsed.
Delete failed messages afterSpecify the length of time a message is to stay in the Internet Queue until it has expired and removed.

advanced

PortSpecifies the port to connect to when sending messages. This should always be set to 25 unless mail is being sent to a server listening on a different port.
TimeoutThe amount of time to wait for a response when communicating with the destination server.
