single user account

A single user account only receives messages for one person. All the messages in this account are downloaded and forwarded to one email address.

multiple user account

A multiple user account receives messages for more than one person (also known as a global or domain account). When the messages for this account are downloaded, eXchange POP3 must determine the intended recipients for each message.

The most common way to do this is to read the message's copylist (To, Cc, etc). If a recipient in the copylist matches an email address or domain specified in the list "Email addresses assigned to this account" then the recipient will receive the message.

Some ISPs include special headers (like X-ENVELOPE-TO, etc.) to identify the recipients of a message. If your ISP does include special headers then enable the checkbox for the appropriate header. If a special header is used then you do not need to list any assigned addresses.

Email addresses assigned to this accountDisplays the list of email address assigned to this account. Entering the domain name will specify and entire domain (eg. acme.com). Click the Add button to enter email addresses. Click the Remove button to remove the selected addresses from the list.
